When any of my clients try and a search for documents and then go to advanced options and search for a particular word in the document the windows explorer. This happens on every single workstation. I have to assume that this a server related issue. This is not a problem doing a search on the server itself however. Only throught the network. I have already uninstall all the Antivirus to check to see if that was the issue.
Does this issue still occurs when perform the search on the local workstation resource but not on the server file shear? If the above test still crashed the Explorer. INI are checked. If you want to start Windows normally after you do the test, Click Start, type msconfig. On the General tab, click Normal Startup. If this issue disappears in clean boot, we need to narrowing down wich 3th party startup items or service caused this issue. If this issue still occurs in Clean Boot, please perform the following steps to collect a dump file for the Explorer.
Gee thanks. Me so stupid, I never would have known I was using Windows 10 unless you reminded me every time my screen saver pops on. Me too, didn't like keeping up with all the changes so stuck with what I'm happy with, does the job and now have work files that I am unable to alter. Invoices to send etc, going to have to resurrect an old laptop in order to get things sorted.
Probably won't make you feel any better but the build of Windows 10 pretty much rendered my laptop useless because it goes to sleep every three minutes regardless of settings. Build turned my laptop into an expensive doorstop.

I contacted them, they got my contact information in case we got disconnected, we promptly got disconnected, I never heard from them. I bolded the useful information in my post, the rest was just me whining about Microsoft destroying my experience. Microsoft does not have the right to prevent me from using software I own.
Thank you to anyone who can resolve this for me. I have the same question Report abuse. Details required :. Cancel Submit. Previous Next. This seems like a great forum. I also noticed it had Windows updates ready to be installed. The Computer wouldn't shut down. Some programs wouldn't close. I closed, then quit, then force-quit everything I could. I walked away. If you do not have a backup image of your Windows volume or disk, please try method 3, 4 or method 5. This module can check and fix most of Windows boot errors automatically. The function is also reversible.
This will often fix crashes caused by very serious system, software, or hardware conflicts that built-in Windows procedures cannot cure. The installed software and data will not be modified or lost.
