I used regshot to capture the registry changes when modifying this setting via the GUI, and there were modifications to the registry when I switched from letting Windows manage it, to selecting "adjust for best performance" It would be really great if there were an option to apply these settings with GPO, or powershell, or a commandline exe, but I've been unable to find anything like that.
